Former American President Donald Trump has been shot at during his rally in Pennsylvania.
Former President Donald Trump sustained injuries in a shooting Sunday morning (Nepali time) during his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania, CNN has reported.
A shooter is dead and an attendee was killed. Two attendees are critically injured. Trump’s campaign says he is “fine” after being whisked off the stage and is being checked out at a local medical facility.
"When Trump took the stage at fairgrounds in Butler, Pennsylvania, waving at the cheering crowd, the shots rang out, at least five. Trump clutched his ear as dark-suited Secret Service agents dashed toward him. He dropped to the ground as the agents yelled, “Get down!” The thousands of rallygoers packed into the field in front of him moved as one, dropping down as silence spread across the grass, punctuated only by an occasional scream," AP reported.
Trump said on social media that he was shot and hit by a bullet in the “upper part of my right ear.” The Secret Service said the former president is safe after he was rushed off the rally stage with blood on his face. A spokesperson said Trump is “fine” after the “heinous act.”
A shooting at Donald Trump‘s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania is being investigated as an attempted assassination of the former president and presumptive Republican nominee, law enforcement officials say.
Rep. Dan Meuser was in the front row with other Republican elected officials and candidates when the shots rang out.
The FBI says it will be the lead law enforcement agency investigating the attempted assassination of former President Donald Trump.
The bureau says it will be working with the Secret Service and local and state law enforcement.
