The Nepali Embassy in Kuwait held a program in Kuwait City on Thursday evening in order to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Nepal-Kuwait diplomatic relations.
Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs of Kuwait Sami Abdulaziz Al-Hamad graced the event as the chief guest of honor.
The event was attended by chiefs and representatives of the diplomatic missions in Kuwait, members of the business community, local citizens, journalists and members of the Nepali community.
On the occasion, Chief Guest Assistant Foreign Minister Al-Hamad, Nepali Ambassador to Kuwait Durga Prasad Bhandari and his wife Bindya Bhandari and Dean of Diplomatic Corps in Kuwait Zubaydullo Zubaydov jointly inaugurated the event by lighting a traditional lamp.
Addressing the program, Nepali Ambassador Bhandari shared various aspects of Nepal-Kuwait ties including achievements of the embassy, high-level dialogue between the two countries, progress made in the bilateral relations and cooperation received in this process, among others.
He also thanked everyone for their enthusiastic participation in the program.
The program featured musical performances by local Nepali artists along with the presentation of costumes of different castes and communities of Nepal conveying the message of "Unity in diversity, the specialty of Nepal".
Diplomatic relation between Nepal and Kuwait was established on February 25, 1972.
However, Nepal established its Embassy in Kuwait on March 21, 2010 and Kuwait's Embassy in New Delhi is accredited to Nepal.
