Foreign Affairs Minister of Nepal, Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba, who is on a five-day visit to India, has met with Vijay Chauthaiwale, the head of foreign affairs department of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), on Wednesday.

During the meeting leader Chauthaiwale congratulated Minister Rana on her appointment as the Foreign Affairs Minister of Nepal. The two leaders discussed several ways of strengthening India-Nepal relations during the meeting.

Taking to X, BJP’s Foreign Affairs Department head Chauthaiwale informed that he called on visiting Minister Rana and congratulated her on being appointed as the Foreign Minister of Nepal.

The relationship between Minister Rana and Chuthaiwale is very close like that of siblings. She had offered a sacred thread to Chauthaiwale on the occasion of Rakshabandan during his Nepal visit last year.

Even though Minister Rana was in India during the auspicious day of Rakshabandhan this time, it is not known yet whether she offered the sacred thread to Chauthaiwale or not.

Rana, who is on a five-day visit to India, paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi and held a meeting with her Indian counterpart S. Jaishankar on Monday.

Rana, who left for New Delhi on Sunday at the invitation of External Affairs Minister of India, S. Jaishankar, will return home on Thursday (August 22).
