The CPN (Maoist Center) has finalized the list of lawmakers to be elected to the House of Representatives (HoR) representing the party under the proportional representation (PR) category.

The list of PR lawmakers was finalized in the meeting of Maoist Center office bearers on Friday.

However, as office bearers could not agree on some of the names on the list on Friday, party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' was authorized to have a final say on the selection of the party's PR lawmakers.

Subsequently, a meeting was called for today (Saturday) to discuss the list of PR lawmakers.

But a leader said that the possibility of the party holding a meeting today is low. Nevertheless, Chair Prachanda has readied the list, which is in his pocket.

The leader added Prachanda and the party were ready to submit the list to the Election Commission by 4 pm today.

The Maoist Center has won 18 directly-elected seats and received 14 seats under PR category.

The Maoist Center will have to elect 12 female lawmakers to meet the constitutional provision of ensuring 33 percent female participation in the Federal Parliament. The party can elected male leaders in the remaining two seats.
