Chief Minister of Koshi Province, Hikmat Karki, has secured the votes of confidence on Wednesday.
In the division of votes cast during the vote of confidence today, 66 votes were cast in favor of Karki, 15 votes were cast against him while two lawmakers abstained from the voting. A total of 83 lawmakers were present during the meeting of the province assembly.
Earlier, Chief Minister Karki had taken the vote of confidence on May 13, 2024. Karki took the vote of confidence today yet again after CPN (Maoist Center) withdrew its support to the government.
In the 93-member Koshi Province Assembly, there are 40 lawmakers from CPN (UML), 29 from Nepali Congress, 13 from CPN (Maoist Center), six from Rastriya Prajatantra Party, four from CPN (Unified Socialist) and one from Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal.
