Nepal has faced a second consecutive defeat at the hands of Oman in the ICC World Cup League 2 Triangular ODI Series underway at Maple Leaf North-West Ground, King City, Canada.
In the second match of the ODI Series, Nepal lost to Oman by one wicket. It had lost to home team Canada by 103 runs in the first match.
Chasing the 221-run target set by Nepal, Oman reached it by losing nine wickets with one ball to spare.
Jatinder Singh tooped the topped the score with 41 runs followed by Kashyap Prajapati with 36 runs while captain Aqib Ilyas contributed 29 runs.
On the bowling side, Gulsan Jha took the highest five wickets for Nepal while Karan KC grabbed two wickets. Similarly, Sandeep Lamichhane and Aarif Sheikh claimed one wicket each.
Earlier, invited to bat first after losing the toss, Nepal notched up 220 runs losing nine wickets in the allotted 50 overs. Captain Rohit Paudel made the highest score with 60 runs followed by Gulson Jha with 53 runs while Aarif Sheikh contributed 35 runs. The other players could not achieve significant runs.
