Police have arrested seven individuals including Indian and Chinese nationals for their involvement in gambling in Kathmandu.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team confiscated Rs 1,201,000, Chinese Yuans 3,100, USD 2,000, seven mobile sets of various companies from the gambling den Bouddha, according to the District Police Range Kathmandu.
The arrested are Sonam Tamang, 24, from Amdo, Tibet, China, currently staying at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6, Jampa Khedup from Bengaluru, the Bihar State of India, currently staying at Bouddha, Kathmandu, Norbu Samden, 30, of Lhasa Tibet, currently staying at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6, Tinchuli.
Similarly, Dasang, 27, of Shigatse, Tibet, currently staying at Bouddha, Tusal, Wi Chuilin, 45, from Sichuan, China, currently staying at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-27, Tenzing Norbu Sherpa, 28, of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6, Simaltar, and Lopsang Lama, 35, Panchpokhari Thangpal Rural Municipality-4, Sindhupalchowk, currently staying at Kathmandu Metropolitan City-6, Tinchuli have been arrested.
Acting on a tip-off, a police team raided a house which they were using as a gambling den based in Bouddha Tinchuli Phulbari Marg and arrested them along with foreign currencies.
They have been kept at the District Police Range, Kathmandu for a necessary action.
