Twenty-six central members including Vice Chairman of Naragik Unmukti Party (NUP), Bijaya Kumar Yadav have defected to Rastriya Mukti Kranti led by Rajendra Mahato.

Issuing a joint statement on Thursday, they have announced to have joined Rastriya Mukti Kranti led Rajendra Mahato.

Those leaving the NUP including Central Vice Chairman Yadav, central members Birendra Mahato (Dhanusha), Sunita Kumari Mahato (Dhanusha), Dinesh Yadav (Dhanusha), Bishnu Narayan Yadav (Siraha), Ram Ashish Chaudhary (Parsa), Sarita Mahato Chaudhary (Parsa), Pappu Kumar Mahato (Parsa), Aftab Hawari (Parsa), Arun Kumari Chaudhary (Bara), Nirajan Chaudhary (Bara), Urmila Rana (Bara) and Pappu Kumar Baitha (Bara).

Similarly, quitting the party are Sunil Kumar Sah (Bara), Mo. Tanbir Akhtar Mikrani (Rautahat), Munna Kumr Jaiswal (Rautahat), Pushpendra Kumar Jha (Rautahat), Mo. Kutris (Rautahat), Mo. Sahajad Mikrani (Rauhat), Tirtha Nath Chaudhary Kalwar (Sarlahi), Najamuddin Mikrani (Sarlahi) and Surendra Sah (Mahottari), Manohar Kumar Singh Danuwar (Mahottari), Bishnu Dev Singh Danuwar (Mahottari), Dikiliya Devi Sada Mushar (Mahottari) and Sushila Singh Tharu (Mahottari).

In the press note, they have stated an ideological derailment and the individualistic tendency becoming dominant in the party behind their defecting into the Mahato's party.

The party leadership has been accused of running the party as if it were a personal enterprise, prioritizing their own interests over those of the party.

"There is no exemption for us to deviate from the federalism with identity, federal democratic republic, and socialism. We are looking for a political leadership that steers the country toward the path of socialism with pluralistic states," reads the press note.

Madhesh-centric central members quit the party after NUP Chairman Ranjita Shrestha and patron Resham Lal Chaudhary ironed out seven-month-long feud and jointly called a meeting.
