Downpour disrupts daily lives of Kathmanduites (watch photos)

With the monsoon deadline inching closer to expire, incessant rains have affected daily lives of people in the Kathmandu Valley on Friday.

The continuous rain in the federal capital since last night has disrupted the lives of commuters and the daily routines of professionals.

Commuters, students and professionals are seen heading to their destinations wearing raincoats and holding umbrellas since early Friday morning. Roads are seen waterlogged and streams and rivers swollen up with continuous rains in the Valley.

Heavy to very heavy rains have occurred in the Valley in the last 24 hours.

According to the updates released by the Meteorological Forecasting Division, Lele of Lalipur recorded the highest rainfall with 100 millimeters of rain as of 1:44 pm. Similarly, heavy rainfall has been recorded in other 10 different places with above 50 millimeters of rain.  

The rain has been pouring down in the Valley with no signs of abatement.

Meanwhile, the Division has listed 38 districts including the Valley on high alert urging the concerned denizens to exercise optimum cautions from the possible flooding and landslides.
