The Judicial Council (JC) has recommended two justices for the appointment to the Supreme Court on Friday.

A meeting of the JC on Friday recommended Chief Judge of High Court Patan, Nripa Dhwoj Niroula and Chief Judge of Tulsipur High Court, Nityananda Pandey, as the Justices of the Supreme Court.

The President will appoint them as the Justices of the Supreme Court once they undergo a parliamentary hearing.

Only two candidates were recommended today after Judicial Commission members failed to strike deal on the nomination of six Justices to the Supreme Court.

Niroula had been appointed as the High Court Chief Judge when he was the chief registrar of the Supreme Court.
