Death toll in Nepal floods and landslides reaches 148; 55 still missing

The death toll from floods and landslides caused by incessant rains in Nepal on Friday and Saturday has reached 148.

According to the updates provided by Nepal Police as of 3 pm on Sunday, 55 people are still missing.

As many as 3,661 people have been rescued, of them 101 people sustained injuries.  

Thirty-five dead bodies were found buried with vehicles in Jhyaplekhola alone, which is near Nagdhunga, the main entry point to Kathmandu.

While thirty-one people lost their lives in Kavre district, 23 people died in Lalitpur.
