Bagmati govt decides to honor Chaniklal Tamang with Rs 150,000 for rescuing two lives

The Bagmati Province government has decided to honor Chaniklal Tamang who safely rescued two people being flown away by the Nakhkhu River at Sugam Tole in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-25.

The Bagmati government announced to award Chaniklal with a cash prize of Rs 150,000 for saving two people from the swollen river by risking his life, informed Chief Minister of Bagmati Province Bahadur Singh Lama.

Chaniklal, 37, of Temal Rural Municipality-9, Choktar, Kavre, currently staying in Lalitpur, saved six-year-old Meghana Sah, daughter of Raju Sah and his younger brother Raj Sah, 22, while being flown away by the swollen Nakhkhu River on Saturday.

Chief Minister Lama said he thanked Chaniklal for his daring work over the telephone and informed Nepalkhabar about the government's plan to award him.
