Forty-five-year-old kidney patient Man Bahadur Sinjali tragically lost his life after being trapped in a landslide while en route to Kathmandu for a kidney transplant.
Sinjali, who was being transported to Kathmandu in an ambulance (Ja 1 Cha, 1708), tragically lost his life after being stranded for 29 hours at Dumja in Sindhuli due to landslides, according to the Sindhuli District Police Office.
"As soon as Sinjali reached Dumja, landslides occurred on both sides, trapping him. His condition worsened, and he tragically passed away," said SP Govinda Kafle of DPO, Sundhuli.
He was trapped from Friday 9 pm and breathed his last at around 2 am Sunday for want of treatment. When the District Police Office, Sindhuli removed the debris with the help of an excavator, Sinjali had already passed away.
Man Bahadur had come to his house Bardibas from New Delhi only a week ago after his father promised to grant him one of his kidneys. Man Bahadur, who had been staying in New Delhi for 12 years, was diagnosed with a kidney problem only four months ago.
According to SP Govinda Kafle, a total of five ambulances had been trapped in the landslides in Dumja. The patients of two ambulances died before they could remove the debris.
Man Bahadur's dream of getting a new lease of life remained unfulfilled before he could the Teaching Hospital.
