It has been revealed that there were 11 Nepali people among those injured when the Mexican army opened fire on a vehicle carrying immigrants to the United States illegally.

The Embassy of Nepal in America on Saturday stated that no Nepalis were killed but three sustained bullet injuries in the firing opened by Mexican border forces on Tuesday.

The Mexican army opened fire on the vehicle in the area where its security post was located after the vehicle tried to flee without stopping.

Initial reports from international media suggested that six people were killed and ten injured in the incident, with some of the victims being Nepali citizens.

The embassy informed that three injured Nepalis are being treated and all the Nepalis arrested in that incident are in the custody of the Mexican immigration.

The embassy said it was in contact with Mexican government officials.
