A person has died and five others sustained injuries in a Hilux vehicle that met with an accident in Nuwakot on Saturday morning.
The accident occurred at Kafaldanda in Shivapuri Rural Municipality-8, Nuwakot, when the vehicle, Ba 14, Cha 3855, was heading to Lamjung from Kathmandu.
The deceased has been identified as 58-year-old Upendra Khanal and five others were injured in the accident, DSP Shanti Raj Koirala of District Police Office, Nuwakot said.
Critically injured Khanal breathed his last in the course of treatment at TU Teaching Hospital in Maharajgunj. The vehicle had fallen some 500 meters off the road from Tokha-Chhahare after it went out of control.
According to Koirala, vehicle driver Bishwa Nath Adhikari,46, of Tarkeshwar-1, Kathmandu, Chandra Nath Sharma, 63, of Nagarjun-3, Ram Sharan Adhikari, 52, of Tarkeshwar-9, Manamaiju, Harikala Khanal, 76, and Gayatri Khanal, 51, have sustained injuries.
The injured are undergoing treatment at Grande Hospital in Kathmandu.
