CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli and Nepali Congress (NC) central member Arjun Narsingh KC have held talks at the UML chair's residence in Balkot, Bhaktapur, last evening.

According to the KC's secretariat, KC reached Oli's residence Balkot on Sunday evening at the latter's invitation.

The two leaders discussed contemporary political developments, including the formation of a new government, in their two hours long meeting.

The two also agreed on the need for unity and cooperation between their parties for economic reform to address issues of people's livelihood.

Similarly, KC's secretariat said that other issues figured in the talks centred around the era of Maoist insurgency, reclaiming territory from India in line with the new map, need to fight corruption together, and slashing the price of petroleum products.

Political leaders have intensified meetings for government formation and cooperation following the conclusion of the House of Representative and Province Assembly elections.

As none of the parties secured a clear majority in the elections, a coalition government is certain to be formed.

Meanwhile, there has also been buzz about NC-UML collaboration for government formation.
