Nepal Electricity Authority Managing Director Kulman Ghising has vehemently stated that he will collect unpaid electricity dues from industrialists under any circumstances as per the law.

Organizing a press conference on Wednesday, he said that he will not back down from collecting the arrears and will proceed with high morale.

"We will collect the outstanding electricity bills from industrialists under any circumstances as per the law. We will not back down. We will proceed with high morale," he said.

Claiming that he has worked in accordance with the Constitution of Nepal, acts and laws of Nepal, he said, "It is wrong to say that Kulman is unnecessarily giving trouble to people. I have worked in accordance with the Constitution, acts and laws of Nepal. That is for the benefit of the country and the institution."

He said that it is wrong to accuse him of trying to collect illegal money to raise the revenue for the Authority.

"We have highly appreciated the contribution made by industrialists to the country’s economy. I have no  political interest other than the interest of the country and the Authority and collecting revenue. I have no intention of doing politics and taking illegal benefits while staying in the Authority," Ghising said.

Meanwhile, Ghising has warned that he would initiate the process again if the industrialists failed to clear the outstanding dues within 15 days.

"We will initiate with the process anew if the industrialists did not clear the outstanding dues within 15 days. The government has also directed us to collect the arrears within 15 days," said Ghising.
