PM Deuba congratulates senior leader Poudel

Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba attended a program organized after the decoration of Senior leader of the Nepali Congress and former Speaker Ram Chandra Poudel by the government of Japan with the 'Grand Cordon of the Order of the Rising Sun' in Kathmandu on Thursday.

On the occasion, PM Deuba thanked senior leader Poudel for being honoured and viewed that it was also the honour to the country.

Similarly, honour recipient leader Poudel expressed gratitude to the Emperor of Japan, Japanese government and citizens of Japan. He also observed that the honour was also the honour to Nepal, Nepalis and Nepali Congress.

“Poudel received the decoration on April 29, 2020, in recognition of his contributions towards strengthening the relationship between Japan and Nepal and promoting the interchange of members of parliaments of both countries. Due to Covid-19 pandemic, the ceremony was unfortunately postponed, but has successfully completed today,” the Embassy of Japan stated by issuing a press statement about the honour and event. The event was organized at the residence of Japanese Ambassador to Nepal.

The event was also attended by ministers, Nepali Congress leaders, lawmakers and dignitaries.
