Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB) Executive Director Prakash Kumar Shrestha has said that the Central Bank will reconsider the provision of cash margin implemented in the automobile sector.

Speaking at a round table discussion organized by Nepalkhabar in Kathmandu on Sunday, Shrestha said the NRB would rethink the policy of cash margin in the auto sector.

Officials from the Ministry of Finance and the NRB, and automobiles entrepreneurs dwelled on the problems facing the auto sector in Nepal and potential solutions at the round table discussion.

Shrestha said, "Economy is not always stable and there are ups and downs. By mid-December, the foreign exchange reserves decreased by 2.5 billion US dollars in 6 months. At present, we are on the path of economic reform, and hence, secure. We have been thinking about the cash margin in auto industry."
