The CPN (Maoist Center) has favored a package deal within the ruling alliance for government formation.

A Maoist Center leader said that the office bearers' meeting held at the party office in Parisdanda today concluded that a package agreement on all positions in the alliance should be agreed upon.

"Our conclusion is that all the posts should be allocated in a package deal," the leader told Nepalkhabar, adding, "All poweful position such as president, prime minister and speaker should be decided in a single package."

In the meeting today, party Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' briefed office bearers on the ongoing dialogues between the parties.

Another Maoist leader, quoting Prachanda, said, "Even though discussion are ongoing for government formation, nothing has been finalized as of yet. We have put forward our view that the distribution model should be done in a package instead of finalizing positions one by one."

Prachanda ruled out a president outside of the political sphere, arguing that the parties would not support such an idea.

"We (all parties) are one on the selection of president and the president will not be sought from outside the parties," Prachanda told the meeting. "There is no truth in media reports published on the issue. We will be allocating all positions, including president's, from within the party."

Chair Prachanda gave training to the newly elected lawmakers after felicitating them.
