President Bidya Devi Bhandari has called on the parties to form a new government with the support of two or more than two parties represented in the House of Representatives (HoR) within seven days.
According to the Office of the President, President Bhandari has asked the parties to stake a claim for the majority of parliamentarians required for a new government by 5 pm on December 25.
“As no party has obtained a clear majority to appoint the Prime Minister in accordance with Article 76 (1) of the Constitution of Nepal, President Bhandari has asked the member of the House of Representatives, who can obtain a majority with the support of two or more parties represented in the House of Representatives, to submit a claim in line with Article 76 (2) to appoint the new Prime Minister by 5 pm on December 25,” the notice issued by the President's Office said.
