CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' has clarified that he has not formally staked claim to the premiership but would accept the offer if opportunity arises.
Speaking at a press conference organized by Press Center Nepal in Chitwan on Monday, he cleared that he had not staked claim to the Prime Minister's post within the ruling coalition.
"I certainly would bear the responsibility, if opportunity arises. However, it's not like how you have heard out as there has been no formal discussion regarding the matter in the coalition," Prachanda said.
He added dialogues were taking place concerning who would be the next Prime Minister and the issue would be quite simply be resolved through a meeting of the ruling coalition.
He also said that he was unaware of the talks pertaining to the Nepali Congress retaining both the presidency and PM's post to itself.
