UML holding conclave of newly elected lawmakers today

To brief lawmakers on parliamentary roles

CPN (UML) has called a gathering of the newly elected lawmakers of the House of Representatives and Province Assembly under the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system today.

According to a UML source, the HoR and Province Assembly lawmakers and members of the central election mobilization committee will participate in the conclave at Nepal Academy in Kamaladi. The gathering will start at 12 pm. 

They will be briefed on the roles the lawmakers will have to play in the federal and provincial parliaments, said the source.

Top leaders including UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli will address the program and congratulate them. UML has won 78 seats including 44 lawmakers under the FPTP and 34 under the PR category.

Similarly, in the province level, it has secured 161 lawmakers including 91 FPTP and 70 PR lawmakers.
