Imbued with new zeal and enthusiasm, the new lawmakers turned up casting euphoric smiles on the premises of the federal parliament building in New Baneshwor on Thursday.

Clad in their cultural attires, they were seen exchanging greetings on their elections and trying to woo each other with their best-ever smiles on the premises.

The lawmakers have been sworn-in. Octogenarian lawmaker Pashupati Shumsher Rana administered the oath of office and secrecy to them.

During the oath-taking, lawmakers took the oath in 14 different mother tongues, including Nepali, Sanskrit and Maithili. Seventeen lawmakers abstained from attending the swearing-in ceremony.
