The body of APF constable Hardev Rajbanshi, who went missing during a disaster simulation exercise, was found this morning in the Saptakoshi River, 3 kilometers downstream from the incident site.
Two APF divers—Rajbanshi of No 1 Shri Antu Battalion, Ilam) and Suraj Saud No 13 Battalion, Parsa—disappeared Thursday afternoon while conducting a joint training drill near Hanuman Nagar Kankalini Municipality.
A large search team, including expert divers from the APF Disaster Management Training School, Kurintar, was deployed. Rajbanshi’s body was found this morning, while efforts to locate Saud continue.
The exercise was part of provincial-level flood preparedness drills ahead of monsoon season.
