The lawmakers of the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP) boycotted the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday.
RPP Whip Bina Lama informed Nepalkhabar that they boycotted the meeting after the budget discussion was advanced despite their demand for an investigation into Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak regarding the visit visa scam.
She mentioned that the meeting was boycotted after the agenda was pushed forward while lawmakers in the House were standing, surrounding the well, and chanting slogans.
“When lawmakers stand up in the House, parliamentary practice and rules state that the House cannot proceed,” she said. “The fourth and fifth largest parties in the House were standing and protesting, but the ruling party moved forward using its majority. This is an act of bullying, so we boycotted and walked out today.”
