NC Gen Secy Sharma calls for flexibility to keep coalition intact

General Secretary of the Nepali Congress Bishwa Prakash Sharma has urged the party leadership to exercise maximum flexibility to save the ruling coalition.

Sharma has asked the top leaders to do so at a time when there have been speculations about the fate of the ruling coalition due to differences as to who would lead the next government.

The ruling alliance has not forged an agreement in this regard even though the deadline given by the President to form the new government is expiring 5 pm today.

Sharma has further suggested that the ruling coalition should take the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) into its fold to form a majority government.

Posting a twitter message, Sharma has suggested a six-point suggestion as an outlet to the existing political standoff:

  1. The ruling coalition should be kept intact
  2.  The coalition should bring RSP into its fold
  3.  Parties should take ownership to run the parliament throughout full five-year term
  4. Parities should maintain flexibility, cooperation and confidence
  5.  Good governance needs to be ensured for the realization of change
  6. Cabinet should be formed including experienced and new lawmakers
