Nepali Congress (NC) President and outgoing Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is set to leave the PM's official residence in Baluwatar this (Monday) afternoon.
NC President Deuba will be vacating the PM's official residence paving the way for newly appointed Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', who is the CPN (Maoist Center) chairman, to occupy the government residence.
According to Baluwatar source, Deuba is preparing to leave PM's official residence in Baluwatar after 4 pm.
"After the new prime minister gets sworn in at 4 pm today, Deuba is ready to leave Baluwatar," said a security officer of the Prime Minister's Office.
Newly appointed Prime Minister Prachanda is taking the oath of office and secrecy before President Bidya Devi Bhandari at 4 pm today.
President Bhandari appointed Prachanda as Prime Minister last (Sunday) evening.
As many as 169 members of the House of Representatives (HoR) backed Maoist Center Prachanda for premiership.
He became the Prime Minister by striking a deal with the CPN (UML), supported by other six smaller parties, after failing to stike chords with the NC.
