Chairman of ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Rabi Lamichhane has said that he sought portfolios of the Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and the Ministry of Home Affairs in the new government.

In a meeting of the top leaders of the newfound ruling coalition, Lamichhane put forward his claims.

Talking to reporters after the meeting today, he said, "My claim is for the portfolios of Home Affairs and DPM. We entrusted the Prime Minister to decide on it."

According to him, only a small-sized cabinet would be formed today and the allocation of ministries would be finalized later.

"We will discuss the distribution of ministries at a later stage," said Lamichhane.
