Prachanda-led Cabinet: Three DPMs, including RSP Chair Lamichhane, being sworn-in

The government led by CPN (Maoist Center) Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda is going to have three Deputy Prime Ministers (DPM).

The meeting of the newfound seven-party ruling coalition held at the Parliament building in New Baneshwar today decided to make Rabi Lamichhane, chairman of the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), the DPM along with providing him with the Home Ministry.

Earlier, the coalition decided to bestow the DPM portfolio to Maoist Center's Senior Vice Chairman Narayan Kaji Shrestha and Vice Chair of CPN (UML) Bishnu Poudel.

However, ministries of to-be-DPMs Shrestha and Poudel is yet to be decided. There is a strong possibility that Poudel will be assigned the Ministry of Finance. However, it is not known which ministry would be given to Shrestha.

RSP Chair Lamichhane claimed the Ministry of Home Affairs and DPM in the ruling coaliton meeting earlier today.

Prime Minister Prachanda along with three DPMs and some other ministers will be taking the oath of office and secrecy at 4 pm at the President's Office, Sheetal Niwas, today.
