Congress MP Gurung suspended

Member of Parliament (MP) Tek Bahadur Gurung, who was elected to the post from Manang, has been suspended.

He was elected an MP from the Nepali Congress (NC) on November 20 elections.

Issuing a notification today, the Parliament Secretariat informed he has been suspended as an MP.

"As a case against Gurung is under consideration at the Special Court, he has been suspended from the post of MP since December 23," read the Parliament Secretariat notice.

The Commission for Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) had filed a case against Gurung in the Special Court on February 4, 2019. The case is still under consideration.
