Gen Z Protest: Death toll hits 17 as one more injured dies at KMC

The death toll from police gunfire during the Gen Z demonstration in Kathmandu on Monday has reached 17.

The number of deaths climbed to 17 after one more injured breathed his last in the course of treatment at KMC. With this, the number of deaths reached two at KMC alone, while 40 others are undergoing treatment at this hospital.

Six people died at the Trauma Center alone. Similarly, five people passed away in the course of treatment at Everest Hospital.

According to the hospital administration, among those brought to Civil Hospital for treatment, three protesters breathed their last in the course of treatment. 

Likewise, one person passed away at Teaching Hospital, informed Dr. Gopal Sedhain, the spokesperson at the hospital.
