The Nepali Army (NA) has arrested 21 persons involved in looting spree in different parts of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur districts last night.
They were involved in the wrongdoing, taking advantage of the adverse situation, NA said.
The Public Relations and Information Directorate of the Nepali Army said 21 persons were held while they were looting properties at Bouddha area and Hotel Hyatt of Kathmandu, and at Bhatbhateni Supermarket of Radheradhe, Bhaktapur.
Similarly, five others were held for their involvement in the heist at Rastriya Banijya Bank at New Baneshwar.
Meanwhile, the army has requested that if anyone notices any destructive or chaotic activities anywhere, he/she should immediately send an SMS to WhatsApp or Viber on mobile number 9863029029 for help.
Similarly, before the arrival of security forces, the army has called on the local community to unite and monitor those involved in the looting and to keep their neighborhoods safe by exchanging accurate information about the incident.
The army also stopped those trying to enter the Pashupatinath Temple area last night.
