A group led by Sudan Gurung chanted slogans in front of the Prime Minister's official residence on Sunday night, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

Expressing dissatisfaction over the selection of ministers, the youths protested in Baluwatar last night.

During that time, Gurung had expressed strong anger, stating that Om Prakash Aryal had been picked as a minister. He warned that another movement might occur.

The protesters said, "If we take to the streets again, no one can stop us."

They had chanted slogans like "Don't play politics over the dead."

On the very day of assuming office, on Sunday, Prime Minister Karki decided to give advocate and rights activist Om Prakash Aryal the responsibility of the Ministry of Home Affairs as well as the Ministry of Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs, former Finance Secretary Rameshwar Khanal the Ministry of Finance, and Kulman Ghising the responsibility of three ministries - the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Construction, the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, and the Ministry of Urban Development.

Karki has submitted these names to President Ram Chandra Poudel. Their oath-taking is scheduled for today, according to sources at Sheetal Niwas.
