As the water level in the Saptakoshi River increased, 27 sluices of the Koshi Barrage have been opened.

When the water flow was measured at 10 pm on Tuesday, 24 sluices were opened after the water flow was found to be 182,287 cusecs per second. On September 2, 38 out of 56 sluices of the Koshi Barrage were opened as the water flow in the river increased. After that, the water flow continuously decreased, but since this morning, the water flow in the Saptakoshi has been increasing, said spokesperson Khatiwada.
When the water flow in the Koshi Barrage exceeds 150,000 cusecs, a red light is switched on as a sign of danger. The water level is increasing due to the rains in the hilly areas.
