Nepal-India joint military training concludes

Army personnel from Nepali Army and Indian Army participating in Nepal-India battalion-level joint training exercise “Surya Kiran-XVI’ in Saljhandi.

Nepal-India battalion-level joint training exercise “Surya Kiran-XVI’ that kicked off at the Nepal Army Battle School at Saljhandi of Rupandehi district on December 16 has concluded.

According to the NA Directorate of Public Relations and Information, NA Chief of General Staff Saroj Pratap Rana, announced the completion of the training.

The exercise focused on search, rescue efforts and healthcare during the disaster management period, counter insurgency and counter terrorism. NA lieutenant colonel Bimal Kumar Wagle and Indian Army colonel Himanshu Bahuguna led the respective sides in the exercise. They each led a 334-member troop.

In the concluding session, Chief of General Staff Rana congratulated the participants for passing out the training. He said upon seeing dedication, enthusiasm and hard work they showed during the training session, he hoped that the training participants could face any sorts of possible challenges in the future.  He also handed certificates to them.  

The NA believes that this type of joint military exercise would contribute to further strengthening the friendly relations between two neighbors and enhance the professional skills among the military force.
