Bipin's family still hopes for his safe return

The family of Bipin Joshi who has been believed to have been the captive of Hamas for the past two years has expressed hope that he would return safely.

The Israel-based Nepali Embassy connected the Joshi family via a video conference to discuss his status today. Bipin had gone to Israel as a student.

During the video conference, Joshi's family member Kishor Joshi said they were informed by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) on behalf of the Israeli government that Bipin's name was not in a list of 20 people to be freed today. The family was also assured that they would be continuously updated about any developments.

Kishor said that the family remains fully hopeful that Bipin would return home safely.

The family from Bhimdatta municipality-3 in Kanchanpur, Bipin's mother and younger sister from the United States of America, the Israeli representatives, the Nepali Embassy in Israel joined the video conference.

In the past two years followed by the ceasefire and the exchange of hostages by Israel and the Hamas of Palestine, the Hamas released over 200 individuals.

Bipin's family and the government have long been making efforts to ensure the safe arrival of Bipin. His mother and sister have reached the USA, seeking the international support for his release while his father Mahananda Joshi awaits home for his son missing for over two years.
