Two killed as cargo truck hits motorcycle in Chitwan

Motorcycle-borne two individuals have died after being struck by a cargo truck in Chitwan.

The accident occurred after the motorcycle, Madhesh Pradesh 03-002 Kha 0799, was struck by the cargo truck, Pradesh 03-002 Kha 0799, coming from the opposite direction, at Khairahani Municipality-8, Chainpur along the East-West Highway, informed DSP Rabindra Khanal of District Police Office, Chitwan.

The deceased have been identified as Shreeram Kandel, 19, and pillion rider Bimala Tamang, 20, of Rapti-5, said Khanal.

The accident occurred on Saturday night.

Shreeram and Bimala, who sustained critical injuries at the accident site, had been whisked to Old Medical College for treatment.

They died in the course of treatment, Khanal said. Police said they are investigating the case after taking the truck under control.
