Shalikram Jammakattel has been picked as the CPN (Maoist Center)'s parliamentary party (PP) leader in Bagmati Province.
A meeting of the party attended by top leaders, including Bagmati province in-charge, has nominated Jammakattel as the PP leader of the CPN (Maois Center) in the province. Earlier too, he was the PP leader.
He is still serving the province as the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Planning.
Province Assembly member Yubaraj Dulal said the Maoist Center's politburo member Jammakattel was picked as the PP leader after a two-day rigorous discussion.
Jammakattel was elected as the Bagmati province assembly member from Dhading constituency-1 (2) with 19,929 votes.
Maoist Center Bagmati province chair Saral Sajayatri had also claimed for the PP leader of the province. The party has 21 members in the Bagmati province assembly.
