The Embassy of China in Nepal has said that the arrival of Chinese tourists would greatly contribute to Nepal Tourism Decade (2023-2033) strategic action plan.
Addressing the inauguration of Pokhara Regional International Airport (PRIA) -- a Nepal-China flagship project under Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) cooperation -- on Sunday, Charge de Affaires of the Chinese Embassy Wang Xin informed that China would resume the outbound travel of Chinese citizens in orderly manner after January 8, which would greatly contribute to Nepal tourism decade (2023-2032) strategic action plan.
"China will remove restrictions to enter China from January 8 and resume the outbound travel of Chinese citizens in orderly manner. Will greatly contribute to 'Nepal tourism decade (2023-2032) strategic action plan'," he said at the inaugural event.
He added, "PRIA is the dream of the people of Pokhara for 50 years. The airport is designed and built according to Chinese standards, which reflects the high quality of Chinese engineering."
It is worth noting that 2023 is the 10th anniversary of Chinese President Xi Jinping's proposal of BRI Initiative.
"Under the guidance of the two heads of state, we will jointly build the trans-Himalayan Multi-Dimensional Connectivity Network, and let the BRI cooperation bear fruitful results," Xin said.
"The PRIA has been highly valued by the leaders of China and Nepal. The new airport will become a vivid practice and a powerful witness of working together to achieve common development and prosperity."
Also the spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy, Xin further highlighted several achievements of Nepal-China cooperation.
He pointed out that the two-way trade at the Kerung/Rasuwagadhi border port resumed and export of Nepali products to China had started again. "The two-way trade at the Pulan/Yari port will be reopened in early 2023. More Nepali products will be exported to China."
"The expert team for the feasibility study & survey of China-Nepal Cross-Border Railway arrived in Nepal, marking important step in the construction of this 'sky road'. Nepal's dream from a 'land-locked country' to a 'land-linked country' will finally come true," Xin shared.
"With China aid, the Civil Services Hospital will be completed soon. The post-earthquake reconstruction projects such as Durbar Secondary School have been successfully handed over. China-Nepal BRI cooperation has brought tangible benefits to the Nepali people," the Chinese envoy said.
The Chinese Embassy also wished the Nepali people happiness and health, and hoped the friendship between China and Nepal would last forever.
