Independently elected MP from Rautahat-2 Kiran Sah has joined the CPN (UML).
UML Chair KP Sharma Oli welcomed Sah to the UML last (Monday) evening.
Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel, Rautahat 1 MP candidate Ajay Kumar Gupta, Madesh Pradesh MP candidate Rajkishore Yadav and UML's local leader Sheikh Fazil Haq, among others, were present on the ocassion.
Independent Sah defeated the candidate of then ruling alliance Firdos Alam, who is son of former minister Muhammad Aftab Alam, by a margin of about 7,000 votes in the House of Representatives elections held on November 20.
Sah had defected to the UML from Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) two years ago. However, after the UML decided to give the ticket of November 20 election to JSP candidate Shailendra Sah, in line with electoral coordination between the two parties, Kiran Sah left the UML, ran as an independent candidate and won the election.
After being elected, he has again joined the UML.
