Top leaders of the ruling coalition led by CPN (UML) Chairman KP Oli are holding a meeting at the prime minister’s official residence in Baluwatar on Wednesday evening.
The coalition leaders have intensified meetings with Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ is set to take the vote of confidence on January 10.
According to the prime minister’s secretariat, CPN (UML) Chairman KP Sharma Oli, Rastriya Swatantra Party Chairman Rabi Lamichhane, Rastriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden, Janata Samajbadi Party Chairman Upendra Yadav are taking part in the meeting.
In the seven-party alliance led by Prachanda, UML and RSP have already sent ministers to the cabinet. Janata Samajbadi Party and the RPP have extended support without sending minsters.
The RPP Chairman Lingden has decided to sit out of the government despite extending support to it. The JSP has said it would join the government provided there is respectable power sharing.
The RPP has staked claim for the post of Chief Minister of Bagmati Province.
Similarly, The JSP is eying the post of Chief Minister and laying claims for some other ministerial posts.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Prachanda called Unified Socialist Chairman Madhav Nepal to Singha Durbar and asked him for a trust vote.
A total of 169 members of parliament including two independent lawmakers have extended support to Prime Minister Prachanda.
