Nepali Congress (NC) President Sher Bahadur Deuba has been holding talks with the leaders of the ruling parties after being pushed to the opposition following the collapse of the then ruling five-party alliance.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the CPN (Maoist Center) Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda', who was appointed the Prime Minister on December 25 with the backing of 169 lawmakers of a new seven-party alliance, is preparing to take the vote of confidence on January 10.

Amid this situation, the leader of the main opposition party, Deuba, is holding conversation with the leaders of the seven-party alliance at his recently-shifted Dhumbarahi residence.

The NC president held talks with Maoist Center Deputy General Secretary Janardan Sharma yesterday (Wednesday). Maoist Center leader Sharma called the NC president at his Dhumbarai residence. The matters disucssed between the two is under wraps.

Despite the fall of the five-party alliance, the NC is optimistic about forming a government under its leadership in some of the provinces and for this, Deuba is carrying out dialogue with the leders of the seven-party alliance.

Talks between Deuba and Sharma is perceived to be meaningful as the Maoist Center is leading the federal government.

On the other hand, Janata Samajbadi Party (JSP) Chairman Upendra Yadav, who attended the seven-party coalition meeting yesterday, also reached Dhumbarahi today to meet the NC president.

Yadav, who is seeking to lead the government in Madhesh Province, is delaying to send a minister to the federal Council of Ministers, despite lending support to Prachanda-led federal government.

Deuba has seen the possibility of forming a government in some provinces, including Madhesh, with the support of parties, including the JSP.

Ram Sahay Prasad Yadav is elected the  leader of JSP parliamentary party (PP) after Chairman Yadav got defeated in the November 20 election.

Amid this, the JSP is still delaying nomination of ministers to the government.

On the other hand, Deuba is intensifying talks with NC and other parties' leaders by staying in his newly-shifted residence in Dhumbarai after his exit from power.
