Govt decides to hold NA by-election on Feb 8

The government has decided to hold the by-election of the National Assembly (NA) on February 8.

The meeting of the Council of Ministers held today (Thursday) at Singha Durbar took the decision to hold the NA by-election February 8.

According to a minister, a by-election is about to be held for a post of a member of the National Assembly.

Khimlal Bhattarai, who was also the chief whip of CPN (UML) in the National Assembly, resigned before the November 20 election. He had been elected from Lumbini Province.

After Bhattarai's resignation, a by-election is being held to fill the vacant post in NA.
