Hanaa Singer Hamdy has been appointed as the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Nepal.
UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres appointed Hanaa as the new UN Resident Coordinator for the himalayan nation.
"As UN Resident Coordinator, she will be leading @UN_Nepal team on the ground to advance the #GlobalGoals and leave no one behind," tweeted UN Sustainable Development Group.
Hanaa has expressed her delight to be back after 10 years to begin her role as the UN Resident Coordinator in Nepal.
"Looking forward 2 leading the @UN_Nepal team to advance the #GlobalGoals, #UNSDCF & ensure irreversible #LDCGraduation for Nepal by leaving no one behind," she tweeted.
She is an Egyptian national. Prior to this, she had served as the UN Resident Coordinator in Sri Lanka. She was the chief of the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) in Nepal 10 years ago.
