The Nepali Congress (NC) is to decide whether to give a vote of confidence to the current government on January 10 itself.

Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' is taking a vote confidence on January 10.

A meeting of NC parliamentary party (PP) held at the office of NC PP in Singh Durbar decided to take a final decision on the morning of January 10.

NC Spokesperson Dr. Prakash Sharan Mahat said that lawmakers elected to the House of Representative on behalf of the party were briefed about how to move forward in the Parliament.

The NC summoned today's meeting to brief its newly elected parliamentarians about some important information before the HoR convenes its first meeting on January 10, said Chief Whip Lekhak.

The newly elected lawmakers of the NC were briefed about the role to be played by the NC in the federal parliament and the preparations to be made for that, added Lekhak.

Similarly, NC General Secretary and MP Gagan Kumar Thapa said as per past practice, the NC PP would take a decision on vote of confidence motion on the same day.

The NC PP met for the first time today after party president Sher Bahadur Deuba was elected as the leader of the NC PP. Similarly, Ramesh Lekhak had been nominated NC chief whip.

As many as 89 MPs were elected from the NC in the HoR election held on November 20.

The next meeting of the NC parliamentary party will convene on January 10 in the building of the federal parliament which will decide on the proposal seeking the vote of confidence, said Lekhak.
