Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane has said that the government has been formed as per the mandate given by the people in the November 20 elections.

Chairman Lamichhane expressed this view while addressing a first meeting of the newly elected parliament in the federal parliament building in New Baneshwor today.

He further requested the lawmakers not to unnecessarily pile pressure on him to release their people and relatives.

“I solemnly swear, putting my hand on the chest, that I and the party I involved in will not do wrongs. I will take stringent action against those if found guilty,” said he.

He went on to say that the government has been formed as per the votes given by the people. “However, it is the mandate of hope, rather than the mandate of hopelessness,” said he.

“Nepali brothers and sisters have cast votes very prudently in the elections this time. None of the parties has garnered majority. It is a warning to the parties, itself. We will do justice to their prudently cast votes and perform duties as per their wishes and aspirations,” said Lamichhane.
