Nepali Communist Party Member of Parliament (MP) Parwati BK raised questions in the House of Representatives on Tuesday regarding a controversial scandal involving Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) lawmaker Krishna Kumar Karki. BK drew the Speaker's attention to social media allegations that Karki ditched a Nigerian woman after getting her pregnant in Kathmandu.
"The news of a ruling party lawmaker ditching a foreign woman after getting her pregnant has gone viral on social media," MP BK stated in the parliament. Expressing concern over the nation's reputation, she warned that such incidents could tarnish Nepal’s image internationally and urged the Speaker to brief the House on the reality of the incident. She demanded legal action against Karki if the allegations are proven true.
The controversy stems from allegations by a Nigerian youth who claims Karki abandoned her at Thamel, Kathmandu after getting her pregnant. While the issue continues to spark widespread criticism, Karki, an MP elected from Morang-2, has not yet issued any official response regarding the matter.
