The election of the Speaker of the House of Representatives (HoR) is scheduled for January 19.
Senior Member of Parliament Pashupati Shumsher Rana announced the date for the election in the HoR meeting.
Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal Prachanda took the vote of confidence today. He received more than two thirds of trust votes.
As many as 268 lawmakers voted for the motion of the vote of confidence while two lawmakers from Nepal Workers and Peasants Party and Rastriya Janamorcha voted against it.
As per the agreement reached among the ruling coalition parties, the CPN (UML) will get the Speaker of the HoR.
