The Meteorological Forecasting Division has stated that there is a possibility of rain and snowfall in some parts of the country today due to the partial effect of the westerly and local winds.
It is generally cloudy in the mountainous areas of Koshi Province, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces and partly cloudy in the remaining mountainous and hilly areas, while it is mainly clear in the Terai region this morning. Light rain is occurring in a few places in Koshi Province.
According to the bulletin issued by the Meteorological Division at 8 am today, it will be generally cloudy in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces in the afternoon, while partly cloudy in the Terai of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
During this period, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall with thunder/lightning at a few places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki and Lumbini provinces during the day, and at one or two places in the Terai areas of Lumbini province, the mountainous and hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces. There is a possibility of snowfall in the high hilly and hilly areas. There is a possibility of hot days at some places in the Terai areas of Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.
Similarly, the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and the mountainous areas of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces will be generally cloudy at night. The mountainous and Terai areas of Lumbini province including Madhesh Province, the Terai areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and the hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces will be partly cloudy. The Terai areas of Sudurpaschim provinces will remain mainly clear.
In this context, there is a possibility of light rain with thunder/lightning at a few places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces at night and at one or two places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces and Lumbini provinces, as well as in the mountainous and hilly areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces.
The Meteorological Division has stated that there is also a possibility of snowfall in the high hilly and mountainous areas.
